Caliper Brake Drum Brake Power Brake
Overview A caliper brake (disc brake) is mounted on a knuckle linked to suspension of an automobile. It generates friction force with hydraulic pressure from a master cylinder, by pressing a pad and holding both sides of a rotating disc to decelerate or stop the vehicle.
Features Separation of functions (pad pressing function & brake torque
  support function)
Anti-corrosion & smooth operation by applying spring-pad
  made of stainless steel
Automatic compensation of gap caused by pad wear
Mechanical alarm system on full wear of friction material
Operation
Principle
A piston pressurizes an inner pad on a disc with hydraulic pressure from Master Cylinder, and reaction force generated between rotating disc and inner pad makes a cylinder move to press an outer pad on a disc. An automobile is decelrated or stopped by the generated friction force.
Overview A traditional drum brake slows down a vehicle when the brake pedal is applied (service brake) and maintains a stationary state when parking lever is applied (parking brake). On the contrary, a rear caliper brake has its own function for service braking by a brake pedal application. Enhancement of performance can be achieved by an independent parking brake. The benefit of adopting a rear caliper brake satisfies a driver with separating performance of service braking and parking. It also gives luxury appearance by adopting aluminum wheel. For some automobiles, integrated type which includes both functions can be adopted.

Overview An IPB Caliper performs hydraulic operation and parking function by integrating a parking function to a Caliper Brake (Disc Brake).

Ball & Ramp Type
Preventing over adjustment under the excessive pressure
Operation
Principle
A piston pressurizes an inner pad on a disc with hydraulic pressure from Master Cylinder, and reaction force generated between rotating disc and inner pad makes a cylinder move to press an outer pad on a disc. The generated friction force decelerates or stops an automobile. In addition, under the parking level operation pulled by cable, it moves the piston toward to the disc in order to perform parking brake.
