FCA(Fiat Chrysler Automobiles)는 11월 17일 중국 상하이에서 진행된 2014 FCA APAC Annual Strategy & Supplier Awards Meeting에서 이래오토모티브를 Metallic Export 부문 우수업체로 선정하였다. (총 12개 업체가 부문별로 수상함)
부문별로 본상은 FCA 거래업체 중 3개 업체(Quality/Warranty Score가 우수한)가 후보에 오르고 그 중 최고점 업체가 선정되는 방식으로, 당사는 경창산업, Lizhong Wheel Group을 따돌리고 Metallic Export 부문 우수업체로 선정되었다.
당사는 FCA에 2009년부터 HVAC Control의 공급을 시작하여 현재는 280만대 정도를 FCA US, Mexico, Italy, China, Brazil, Turkey에 Global 하게 양산 공급 대응 중이다.
Halfshaft의 경우 2014년부터 UF 200C를 양산 공급을 시작으로 금년 12월부터 두번째 모델(RU, Town & Country)의 양산이 시작되며, 현재 세번재 모델(DT, Dodge Ram)의 Bidding이 진행 중으로 내년 초 좋은 소식을 기대하고 있다.
그동안 당사 Halfshaft는 GM/GMK에 의존하여 Business를 해오면서 우물안 개구리에 불과 했으나, FCA Bidding에 참여 Global 업체인 GKN, NTN, Nexteer 등과 경쟁을 통해 수주를 하는 과정 그리고 이후 양산에 대응하는 과정에서 많은 어려움이 있었지만, 도전정신을 가지고 극복하면서 내부적으로 가파르게 성장할 수 있는 기회가 되었고, 그 동안 경험했던 부분을 발판으로 향후 신규 Project 에서도 좋은 성과가 기대된다.
이번 본상을 수상하기 까지, 그리고 Quality/Warranty 100점 수준의 유지를 위해 공장, 연구소, 품질, 구매 등 유관 부서에서 많은 관심을 가져주시고
